The decision to use Ferriprox® is one that will be made by a physician based on a patient’s personal situation. Both oral solid and liquid Ferriprox® are usually taken three times a day (morning, afternoon and at night). The dosage, which is either total number of tablets taken per day or total mL's consumed, depends on a person’s weight and total body iron content. Always refer to the instructions provided by the doctor when taking Ferriprox®.

Ferriprox® tablets are white to off-white, capsule-shaped, and film coated. They are imprinted with ”APO” bisect ”500” on one side and plain on the other. Because the tablets are scored they can be broken in half to provide a 250 milligram dose.
Ferriprox® oral solution is a clear reddish coloured liquid and can be dosed to the nearest 2.5 mL.
